I am not a good patient (or very patient in general, for that matter).

I'm sure my husband could (but wouldn't) attest to that. I get a little bit really whiny and don't want to do anything except complain. Needless to say, I try my very hardest not to get sick.

One thing that helps combat colds is daily intake of vitamin C. While I strive to get the recommended dosage from fresh foods, it helps me rest easy to know that I have a backup on hand at any given time: Emergen-C. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this product, it's a drink mix that's packed with seven B vitamins, antioxidants like zinc and manganese, electrolytes, and more vitamin C than 10 oranges. Talk about immune system support!*

With over 20 flavors, Emergen-C has plenty of delicious varieties from which to choose. Since I was being clever and turning this easy and delicious way to take vitamins into a tasty treat from childhood, I got Super Orange from Walgreens this time around with the intention of making a Dreamsicle (or perhaps you know it as a Creamsicle?) milkshake.

Let's talk about this milkshake! I'm not sure anything could be as delicious as my memory of those ice cream novelties, but this was pretty darn close. Though you might be tempted to skip the sherbet, don't--it adds irreplaceable texture and taste! If you don't like super thick milkshakes, feel free to add a little more milk and orange juice. I, however, prefer mine too thick to suck up through a straw.

*This statement has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Emergen-C is packed with B vitamins, antioxidants†, electrolytes plus more vitamin C than 10 oranges^.
†Vitamin C, Zinc and Manganese

Creamy dreamsicle flavor and vitamins that's my kind of dessert! I'm with you on thick shakes,if you dont need a spoon it's not the real deal :)

Well that would be a great way to make lemonade (or dreamsicles) out of flu season. I must warn you however, that my husband WOULD attest to my lack of patience and occasional whininess, so be glad you are a newlywed!

I've downed my share of Emergen-C, especially when traveling. But I never would have thought to incorporate it into a dessert. How fun and clever! Makes taking your medicine so much easier. ;)
