Halloween is over. How much candy do you have left?
We have
Lots of savvy bloggers are posting recipes to use up leftover candy, so I thought I'd do the same in hopes of being called savvy myself. This is a super simple concept--I used a box of Krusteaz Triple Chocolate Chunk Cookie Mix and just added a mound of chopped up snack-size Hershey's Cookies 'n' Cream bars. The resulting cookies are chewy and chocolatey and I can feel good about putting a dent in that never-ending candy bowl.
Cookies 'n' Cream Cookies ('n' cream, if you want)
Ingredients:
- 1 box Krusteaz Triple Chocolate Chunk Cookie Mix
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened
- 8 (or more, depending on just how much candy you need to use up) snack-size Hershey's Cookies 'n' Cream bars, coarsely chopped
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. (If using an insulated cookie sheet, set oven to 375 degrees F.)
Stir together egg, butter, cookie mix, and chopped candy bars until dough forms, hand kneading if necessary.
Scoop dough according to desired cookie size and place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 11-13 minutes for 24 2-1/2-inch cookies or 13-15 minutes for 12 3-inch cookies, or until light golden brown around edges.
Cool 5 minutes and remove from pan.
Store cooled cookies in airtight container.

These post holiday cookies look so good! Eat one more for me :-))
Great way to use leftover candies! They look delicious!
Luscious! Those cookies look ever so good.
Cheers,

I made my favorite oatmeal cookie recipe this weekend, and in place of the nuts/raisins/chips, I added two cups of chopped halloween chocolate bars. They turned out excellent and I'll be making another batch before getting rid of all this candy!
We got NO trick or treaters so I totally feel your pain! Love the idea of stuffing all of the leftover candy into cookies!
Ooh! Cookies & Cream candy in a cookie. That sounds amazing! And I keep hearing more and more than ids aren't doing the door-to-door thing. I guess I understand, but it's a total bummer!

We don't get trick or treaters at our place, so I've resisted buying Halloween candy the past couple of years! These cookies look like a perfect way to use up the leftovers though.
I love cookies and cream! I'm currently eating candy right now, but I'm not complaining! ;)
These cookies remind me of why I am addicted to sweets :P
They make me so happy!
Cheers

No trick or treaters here either, but I knew and didn't have any candy in the house! Used to be such fun to see the costumes too.
Clever idea for using up leftover candy, Grace.
We normally get five or so kids but this year we had probably close to 30! I sadly ran out of candy early. :(
These cookies look terrific!
These wouldn't last long in our house!!
I packed up the leftovers and shipped them to my son Ryan at college. I figure I'm saving myself from unwanted buttock expansion.
Mmm cookies!! I didn't even buy any Halloween candy this year. Whoopsies.
Ha! I've always thought you were savvy!
And leftover Hallowe'en candy went in the garbage this year. I just can't trust myself around it (and my husband trusts himself even less).
Savvy indeed! I kind of want to go buy some candy just so I can use it for cookies.
No halloween candy left--but I did chunk up some Easter bunnies a couple years ago!
Since we got ZERO trick-or-treaters, we have a lot of candy left. Unfortunately, my husband has just been scarfing them down. I hope there's still some left to bake up into a treat like this.
