the year in a nut pie shell

Seeing everyone's 2014 highlights has done two things. First, it has inspired me to follow suit, and secondly, it has made me feel like I kinda dropped the ball this year. You folks have really created some incredible stuff!

What did 2014 have in store for me? I never would've predicted it. I relocated, got a new job, got a new and better job, got a house, visited places like Savannah, Seattle, and Ocracoke, and still managed to get into the kitchen quite a bit. So, all told, I guess my top 10 most popular posts this year aren't too shabby. Take a look:

Quiche, with tips and tricks to boot.

Raspberry coconut bars with chocolate and white chocolate and walnuts. Loaded.

Copycat cranberry bliss bars--just as good but on the cheap (and no Starbucks card required)!

If you're feeling under the weather, chicken noodle casserole will cure what ails ya.

I've definitely gained new appreciation for the avocado this year.

The crust on this pie is SILLY.

The bete noire is the richest dessert I've ever made. The end.

I've made barbecue chicken pot pie at least 10 times this year. It's the pig's wings.

The crockpot has become my new friend, and this batch of pork carnitas was some of its best work.

Classic banana bread--it'll never get old.

Bonus: The award for treat I never thought I'd like but ended up loving goes to eggnog pie. Yummers.

That's my year of food in review. A lot more savory selections, but still plenty of sweets and heaps of love for you lovely people who keep reading. Have a wonderful and safe New Year!
