This one I've been feeding for 2 yrs but when I try to make the bread it wont rise or it rises very little. My bread recipe is exactly like yours with the exception of 6cups of bread flour instead of the wheat. Someone said weather too humid but I baked it in all types of weather before and no problem. My starter is good and smelly and very bubbly so I'm sure its alive. Do you have any suggestions? This starter is named LouLou because the hussy wont do right :/Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00804196855432089252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8086092172497469041.post-40358643074978183212010-07-07T18:29:42.817-04:002010-07-07T18:29:42.817-04:00dianna--the post that referred to the yeast is the...dianna--the post that referred to the yeast is the recipe to start your own starter. once you've gotten it started, you don't need to add yeast ever again! you do have to feed it though, and that's where the sugar and potato flakes come into the picture. if you have other questions or if this answer doesn't cut the mustard, send me an email!gracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02368850949339758604noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8086092172497469041.post-41973585972605285742010-07-07T00:38:05.159-04:002010-07-07T00:38:05.159-04:00Ok, I'm confused! On another recipe linked to this, you add the yeast when you put the sugar, potato flakes and water together. Is that when we add the yeast? How much?
