A Southern Grace: honey honey, how you thrill me

June 12, 2008

honey honey, how you thrill me

Yum

A question of the utmost importance: Where can I find outfits like the ones in this video? I need at least a couple immediately. They're awesome.

You know what else is awesome? Air conditioning. Melanie from My Kitchen Cafe. Coffee. Ear plugs. ABBA (just kidding). Honey bran muffins.

This muffin mix was included in the "Delights of Utah" package Melanie sent to me.

Just add water! I also threw in some dried cranberries and chopped pecans for some sweetness and crunch.

They're wonderful (especially with a little huckleberry honey on the side) and healthy and quite frankly, I decided not to take any to work and just keep them all for myself!

I've also been given two awards! Sophie from Flour Arrangements (love the blog title, love the blog!) feels that I'm responsible for a blog of distinction!

I'm so honored, Sophie! Although they may have already received this award, I want to recognize some blogs that I consider distinct simply because they're maintained (make that well-maintained) by guys:

Jeff at Culinary Disasters
Marc at No Recipes
Mike of Mike's Table
Kevin of Closet Cooking

Male food bloggers are hard to come by! Fellas, do with this award what you will!

RecipeGirl, the blogger behind (you guessed it) The Recipe Girl, has given me the "You Make My Day" award.

I think her recipes and writing are completely fabulous and definitely add some brightness to my day! I want to pass on the award to some ladies who pretty much have a new post every day. Correction--ladies who pretty much have a quality new post every day:

Cathy of Noble Pig
Krysta of Evil Chef Mom
Kim of A Yankee in a Southern Kitchen
Deborah of Taste and Tell

Keep up the good work, gals!

Those outfits made my morning. Thank you.

Way to give the guys a shout out. I've always been a little shy to hand out awards to them as it seems like a female type activity for some reason...silly woman. I'm sure they love the recognition!

Oh, and yummy muffins too!

hehe my hubby would have to disagree with you when you put j/k right after ABBA; don't tell him I told you this, but he has dancing queen on his 'running soundtrack' for his mp3 player :P!!! I think that's the funniest thing :).

You certainly deserve the award! Glad to see you've already passed it along (it took me awhile :P)!

You are too kind!!!

I really need to ask Melanie where she got that stuff - I'm in Utah, but have never seen it! Looks delish!

You know what if I was a hot Swedish chick, I'd wear one of those costumes and cook and sing and charge people money to watch!

Thanks for the award...

Honey Bran Muffins are some of my favorites, and with pecans and cranberries, they sound fabulous! I love ABBA. Well, not their outfits... :)

I so wanted to dress like Abba back in the day? That so brings back memories. Should I admit to knowing all the words to all the songs even before Mama Mia?

Boo tee full muffins. So much fun to get stuff in the mail :)

Congrats on your awards (you certainly deserve them), and you picked some good 'uns to pass them along to.

What do you have against ABBA? I do a mean karaoke version of 'Dancing Queen!'

i just bought a lot (A LOT) of bran, with the hopes that it would healthy-up my morning cereal, but i can't really get behind the taste. i'm going to try to find a honey bran muffin recipe, maybe, to break down my seemingly-endless supply of bran! thanks for the idea!
